SMALL SPILL. CLEARER NEXT STEP.
Find a stain-care method that suits the material
The coffee spilled in one second. Your shirt would apparently like to keep the memory forever. Stain Rescue Lab helps you choose a sensible next step for common marks on clothing, carpets and upholstery, using the material, care instructions and treatment history.
Start with the material
Choose the fabric or furnishing and check its care label. Cotton, wool, silk and sofa upholstery have different needs. The label may be tiny, but it gets a very big vote.
Tell us what happened
Select the stain, whether it has dried or been heated, and any cleaner already used. A tumble dryer or previous product can change the next step. For carpets and upholstery, check the fiber too.
Get a practical path
See treatment steps or a check-first plan, important limits, suitable supply examples and illustrated guides. Your existing clean towel is welcome. This rescue does not require a shopping montage.
Follow the item and cleaning-product instructions. Test an approved method in a hidden area. Unknown materials, restricted care and previous cleaners receive a check-first plan; removal is not guaranteed.

Stain Rescue Lab FAQ
Useful answers for the moment a small spill starts demanding a surprisingly large amount of attention.
How do I use Stain Rescue Lab?
Choose the material, its care instructions, the stain type, its age or heat history, and any previous cleaner. For a carpet or sofa, identify the fiber too. Select “Find my next step” to see a treatment path or the checks needed before treating.
Why does the material matter as much as the stain?
A coffee mark on a cotton shirt and one on a sofa do not get the same plan. Clothing labels, furnishing fibers and upholstery care codes determine suitable cleaning methods. The stain may be ambitious; the material still sets the rules.
What do W, S, WS and X mean on upholstery?
W allows appropriate water-based cleaning; S calls for an approved solvent method. WS or W/S allows water or solvent methods subject to the maker instructions. X does not permit liquid spot cleaning; ask a professional about stain treatment. A W/WS code does not make a sofa machine washable or approve every product.
Can I use hot water or tumble dry a stained item?
Check both the stain type and care instructions. Start fresh blood stains on suitable washables with cool water. Inspect a washed item before tumble drying or ironing while a mark remains. Heat can make some stains harder to remove; the dryer is not the place to settle a disagreement with a stain.
Can I use a regular stain remover on wool or silk?
Use only the method and product approved for the exact item. Washable wool needs a mild neutral wool detergent; avoid enzyme detergents and both chlorine and oxygen bleach. Delicate fabrics and wool or silk furnishings get their own care path. A laundry gel or pet cleaner is not a universal substitute.
What if I have already used a cleaning product?
Select that history so the tool can give a check-first plan. Identify the previous product and follow its removal and compatibility instructions before another treatment. Do not mix cleaners. The cleaning cupboard contains several useful products, but it is not requesting a group project.
What if I cannot identify the stain or find the label?
The tool gives identification and care-check steps rather than guessing a strong treatment. Ask the item maker or a suitable cleaner about unknown materials, inks, dyes or persistent marks. Rust needs a fabric-approved method; chlorine bleach can worsen rust discoloration.
Do I need to buy the recommended supplies?
No. Use suitable supplies you already have. Product links are optional examples for the permitted care path; check the exact formula and item compatibility. You can print the plan and explore related illustrated guides. A perfectly good towel is allowed to keep its job.
