LESS GUESSWORK. A CLEARER COST COMPARISON.
Fix or Replace Calculator
Your appliance has requested a budget meeting. Bring the repair quote; we will bring the calculator.
Compare the next cost, not the original price tag
Compare a repair quote with the full cost of a suitable replacement. Add your own service-year and running-cost estimates for an annualized view. The machine's age is useful context; it does not automatically get to vote itself into retirement.
Include labor, parts and relevant fees in the repair quote. Add delivery, installation and removal to the replacement cost. Small extras enjoy arriving in groups.
Match capacity, dimensions and connections. A mini fridge is charming, but it is not secretly a full-size family refrigerator.
Optional service years are your estimates. Try a shorter and longer repair-life assumption to see how much the result changes.

Fix or Replace Calculator FAQ
Does a repair cost above 50% mean I should replace?
No universal percentage can decide every case. Compare the actual totals, warranty, fault diagnosis, parts availability and suitable replacement. The ratio is useful information, not a retirement notice.
What is included in replacement cost?
The replacement price plus the delivery, installation and old-item removal costs you enter. Include tax in the price or extras consistently, without counting it twice. Compare similar capacity, fit and connections.
How are annualized costs calculated?
Repair: repair total divided by assumed additional service years, plus annual running cost when entered. Replacement: replacement total divided by assumed service years, plus its annual running cost. These are planning estimates, not discounted cash flows or a forecast of future faults.
What if I do not know the remaining service years?
Leave both service-year fields blank for the upfront comparison. If you use estimates, test different scenarios. A shorter repair-life assumption raises its annualized cost; the calculator does not invent a lifespan to fill the gap.
Does the original purchase price matter?
Money already paid is not part of the next repair-versus-replacement outlay. Remaining warranty or an actual trade-in offer may affect your real costs; use comparable net quotes. The old receipt has had its moment.
What if the fault has not been diagnosed?
A preliminary quote produces a preliminary comparison. Confirm the fault, covered work, parts and repair warranty before committing. The calculator compares amounts; it cannot inspect the appliance.
Can I use another currency or save the inputs?
Yes. Keep every amount in one currency. Changing the currency label does not perform a conversion. “Save inputs” stores the entries in this browser on this device; clearing site data removes them. They do not sync across devices.
Are the linked products the calculator's verdict?
No. They are optional comparison or routine-care examples from the relevant category. Check the actual model, capacity, fit and instructions. Cleaning supplies do not repair a diagnosed mechanical or electrical fault.
